Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said the number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood can “account for the 4th leading cause of death in our country.”

"Bob Unruh's article at World Net Daily contains several shocking facts,” Burch told Madison Reporter. “The first is that Planned Parenthood killed so many unborn babies (392,715 of them), their actions account for the 4th leading cause of death in our country. Another shocking fact is that $700,000 dollars in tax money was given to that organization, a number that equals one third of its budget."

Bob Unruh at World Net Daily reported that abortions performed by Planned Parenthood are the 4th leading cause of death in the United States. The deaths of those children rank behind heart disease, cancer, and Covid-related deaths. "The leading player in the nation's lucrative abortion industry said in its annual 2022-23 report that the corporation ended the lives of nearly 393,000 during a single year," Unruh wrote.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America's president Marjorie Dannenfelser said "Planned Parenthood’s business is abortion, abortion and more abortion. Their annual report shocks the conscience. Once again, pregnant women who walk into Planned Parenthood are sold an abortion 97% of the time, rather than helped to keep their child or make an adoption plan.”

Planned Parenthood’s annual report showed 80,000 fewer patients, 60,000 fewer pap tests and breast exams, and lower numbers of contraceptive prescriptions than previous years.

"Democrats in Washington and in the states sent [Planned Parenthood] almost $700 million from the taxpayers – one third of their revenue – to end the fiscal year with $2.5 billion in net assets,” Dannenfelser said. “In turn, their political arm spends more than any other abortion-related group to lobby the federal government against commonsense policies like protecting babies born alive after failed abortions. We know that 60% of women who’ve had abortions would rather have kept their babies if they just had more emotional or financial support."

Unruh also reported that the 392,715 abortions performed by Planned Parenthood in 2022 is a record number for the organization, but it only represents about 40 percent of the abortions performed in the United States.

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
